Angelina Jolie has filed for divorce from Brad Pitt on Monday 19 August 2016, citing irreconcilable differences. The couple met in 2005 on the film set of Mr & Mrs Smith and married in 2014. The alleged reason Angelina has decided to initiate divorce proceedings is "for the health of the family" and she is requesting that their 6 children remain living with her. Sources suggest that Angelina informed Brad of her intentions the day before she filed the application. Brad is understandably upset and has requested that the press respect the family's privacy.
He is allegedly angry regarding false rumours about his apparent anger and substance use and the way in which he parents his children. There is also speculation surrounding his alleged relationship with actress, Marion Cotillard. The two actors worked together whilst filming "Allied", however Brad strenuously denies all allegations. Angelina and the children have apparently moved out of the family home.
Unfortunately for Brad the property is surrounded by photographers, and reporters. It has been reported that the Los Angeles police are regularly patrolling the area in order to ensure that the family are safe. Neither Angelina, nor Brad is allowed to remove their children from the Los Angeles County jurisdiction without the consent of the other parent. This may cause issues for the couple as they are due to start working on their respective new films and may wish for the children to join them on set.
