UK Unemployment rate has fallen to 4.9%

According to the Office for National Statistics (ONS), the UK’s unemployment rate has fallen to 1.65 million in the March-to-May period. This is down 54,000 from the previous quarter.

The number of people in work rose by 176,000, with the employment rate remaining at a record high of 74.4%.

Earnings, excluding bonuses, rose by 2.2% compared with last year.
