The Employment Act 2008 comes into force on 6th April 2009 and makes important changes to the handling of discipline and grievance issues.  The legislation introduced a new ACAS Code of Practice which you will need to follow.  If there is an unreasonable failure by you to follow the relevant Code then Employment Tribunal can make a discretionary uplift of 25% of the compensation awarded if they find in the employee’s favour.

Even with the correct procedures in place, employment disputes can’t always be avoided, and when they occur, timing is crucial. We offer a quick response, combined with straightforward, practical advice.
