Alexandra (Alex) is a Partner and Head of the Employment and Personal Injury Team. Having trained at Gepp & Sons she qualified in 2000 and became an Associate in 2004 and Partner in 2007. She is a member of the Employment Lawyers Association and the Association of Personal Injury Lawyers
For the Employer
Alex provides consultancy advisory services, acting for small to medium sized businesses particularly in the service sector. She has worked for Companies, not for profit organisations, Partnerships, LLPs and Sole Traders. She has also worked opposite public bodies and understands their pension schemes. She has a rounded knowledge of Employment Tribunal matters and handles all types of Employment Tribunal cases including race, sex and disability discrimination claims.
With over 10 years experience as an employment lawyer she has a comprehensive understanding of the issues and complexities involved for employers trying to run successful businesses in the current climate where current employment legislation often makes it difficult for employers to balance the needs of the employees with the flexibilities and requirements of running a business.
Alex advises on the drafting of all employer documentation, including:
- Service Agreements
- Share Schemes
- Contracts of Employment
- Policies and Procedures
- Compromise Agreements
She has advised clients on:
- the management of disciplinary and grievances cases
- planning and implementing redundancy projects
- issues of corporate governance
- complex board room disputes
Alex has extensive knowledge of TUPE and the practical issues connected with business transfers and service provision change. She has acted in a number of transactions involving the sale and purchase of a business.

Alex has developed a great local reputation for providing straight talking guidance and support to those who are experiencing difficulties at work through:
- Bullying
- Discrimination (race, sex or disability)
- Stress
- Redundancy or dismissal
She regularly holds the hands of clients through complex disciplinary and grievance procedures alleviating where possible the stress and worry of such procedures and where appropriate negotiating severance packages
In addition in this current climate she specialises on advising high earning, senior management and company directors on their negotiations and formal compromise agreements with their employers.
Military employment issues
The firm is a member of Forces Law and Alex advises Military Personnel of all ranks on employment related issues.
Personal injury
In addition to Alex’s employment practice she also runs the Personal Injury and Clinical Negligence Team and over the last 10 years has developed a special interest in serious injury cases whether through accident or clinical negligence. These include road traffic accidents, accidents at work and clinical negligence involving injuries sustained during labour, amputations and psychiatric injury. Alex is a member of APIL which is an Association dedicated to campaigning for the rights of those who have suffered personal injury through the fault of a third party. Alex has achieved successful outcomes for difficult cases. She works closely with Barristers where necessary and attends Mediation and round table settlements.
Alex’s employment and personal injury practice compliment one another due to her knowledge of health and safety and employment law.
Alex is married and has two young children and when she has any spare time she likes to practice yoga and swim.
