January: a busy time for marriage breakups

17th January 2012

The press has announced the breakdown of Russell Brand's marriage to the singer Katy Perry after only 14 months of marriage. Indeed, it appears he is instituting divorce proceedings in the United States.

January statistically has shown itself to be the busiest month for breakdown in marriages where parties are deciding to divorce.

Divorce proceedings can be extremely costly and very often result in considerable acrimony between the parties.

It is essential that parties to a marital breakdown seek specialist advice from family law lawyers.

Members of the Family Law Team at Gepp and Sons are all members of Resolution, an association of Family Lawyers whose code of conduct encourages the resolution of family disputes in a non confrontational way.
